the surface tension of water, eliminates stratifications and dry
pockets, promotes deeper penetration of moisture below scarified
materials and produces greater depth of compaction. A facto in
compaction is that moisture must thoroughly mixed and evenly
distributed, lessening surface tension angular soil particles shift into
a more compact density.
